Today, as never before, leaders must focus on their attention on the cross-functional ways their organizations operate, since these cross-functional processes produce the results customers care about most. They must be prepared to challenge conventional wisdom and devise new breakthrough ways of thinking and operating to create a sustainable competitive advantage in today’s global marketplace. TPA acts as a stimulant and catalyst in challenging conventional wisdom, helping its clients to question and improve their operating philosophies. As difficult as this is, we assist our clients through the critical turning points resulting from this challenge---naturally, smoothly, and spontaneously. We never forget that our clients must play the most significant role in managing their own revolution, and therefore must have the strongest commitment to change. Hence we make certain that our clients make all the critical decisions about the direction of our joint activities and how we work together. We strive to insure that our clients are fully informed before they make these choices, and we work to build client commitment to the consequences of these choices once they are made. We have found this approach, a form of guided self-discovery, to be the most effective learning process in client interventions. TPA’s approach is to work with our clients to help them to analyze, evaluate, and improve their operations to better serve their customers. TPA takes the role of facilitator, not leader or driver. We believe that, for these efforts to bear fruit, the client must take ownership of effort and be accountable for the results. We are a source of knowledge and ideas, but the client must be the real agent of change. |
